Being A Gardener

The thesis requirement of my master’s degree in Communicating Arts is getting closer and closer to fruition.

Since August I’ve transcribed 175 pages of qualitative interviews that I conducted with five women who garden in the Chequamegon Bay region of Northern Wisconsin.  I have @100 pages or so left to transcribe.  After that, it’s on to analyzing the interviews for themes, patterns, concepts, and common thought.

Hopefully, by the end of this whole process I’ll have a story to tell about women who garden in Northern Wisconsin.  Or, at least I’ll have a story about the five women gardeners, and their gardens, who so graciously participated in this research project.

Many thanks to them!
